Abstract

In interpreting “Tair Ababil”, there are many differences in the various narrations regarding the meaning (definition) of Tair Ababil. Some interpret it rationally and some interpret suprational. The problem examined in this article is: what is meant by Tair Ababil in Qur’an, and how do Muhammad Abduh and Wahbah az-Zuhaili interpret the Tair Ababil? The type of research used in this paper is library research using a qualitative approach. The methods used in this research are thematic method (al-dirasah al-maudhu’iyyah) and comparison method (Muqaran) with descriptive-analysis and comparative-analysis data analysis techniques. The authors concludes, in Qur’an, when mentioning birds with lapaz “tair”, the context is birds in general, whereas when mentioning birds specifically, Qur’an will directly mention names such as “guraban” and “hud-hud”. Muhammad Abduh interpreted “Tair Ababil” as flies, mosquitoes and even microbes, which carry smallpox disease while Wahbah az-Zuhaili interpreted “Tair Ababil” as a group of the smallest black birds carrying stones that cause smallpox. Muhammad Abduh and Wahbah az-Zuhaili have differences and similarities in interpreting “Tair Ababil”, differing in the method of interpretation of Muhammad Abduh with ra’yu and Wahbah az-Zuhaili with riwayah. The same in interpreting the intermediary Tair Ababil destroying Abrahah and his troops, namely the spread of smallpox brought by Tair Ababil.

Abstract

The problem of water quality and quantity is getting more of a concern from time to time. Water crisis, flooding, land subsidence, intrusion and rising sea levels are serious threats facing modern society today. Abstract

This paper explores the history of Indonesian Islam from Hamka’s perspective, especially regarding the history of the entry of Islam in Indonesia in general and the history of the entry of Islam in West Sumatra in particular, as well as the contribution of Hamka’s thoughts to the historiography of Indonesian Islam. Hamka, who is more famous as a scholar and writer, is also a historian. Hamka produces historical works on the history of Indonesian Islam. Moreover, Hamka’s knowledge on history is self-taught by reading history books. The author uses data sources consisting of primary sources and secondary sources obtained through library research. The historical methods used are heuristics (data collection), verification (source criticism), interpretation (data interpretation), and historiography (history writing). The article concludes that Hamka’s thoughts on the history of Indonesian Islam are illustrated by his theory regarding the history of the entry of Islam in Indonesia which is called the Mecca theory. Islam that existed in the archipelago in the 7th century spread to several areas in West Sumatra such as Ulakan, Pariaman, Minangkabau, and so on. Islam easily adapts to local culture and even becomes part of existing customs.

Abstract

This article explores contemporary (20th century) commentaries in Indonesia to see the views of these commentators on diffables in their interpretation. Until now, people with disabilities are still underestimated. Even long before that, namely from before entering the 20th century, people with disabilities have experienced various discrimination. Various terms of language elements that have the meaning of insulting, degrading, etc. have been widely used, such as people with disabilities, idiots, disorders, blindness, and so on. Protection for persons with disabilities in Indonesia only appeared in 1997 in the form of a law. At the same time, many interpretations were born at that time, namely from the beginning of the 20th century until the emergence of the Law. This paper concludes that: First, diffables are people who have physical or mental disorders that can interfere or constitute an obstacle and obstacle for them to carry out normal activities but still be able to carry out their activities in a different way. Second, Al-Qur’an does not explain diffable explicitly. However, there are several terms he uses regarding diffables, namely summun, bukmun, 'umyun and a'raj, which mean deaf, mute, blind and lame. Al-Qur’an, in its explanation, divides the diffable into two parts, namely physical disabilities and mental disabilities. Physical disabilities as referred to in Al-Qur’an are used to describe the limitations or imperfections that exist in a person or person. Meanwhile, mental diffable is used to refer to people who are blind, deaf, and mute theologically. Third, all Mufassirs who lived during the 20th century, in general really care about the existence of people with disabilities.

Abstract

This article explores Ibn Khaldun’s historical thoughts regarding the causes of the collapse of the Al-Muwahidun Caliphate. The author uses data sources consisting of primary sources and secondary sources obtained through library research. The historical methods used are heuristics (data collection), verification (source criticism), interpretation (data interpretation), and historiography (history writing). The article concludes that humans as social beings cannot live alone. He will establish interactions with other social beings, from the social and political realities of this society that Ibn Khaldun ordained as ‘Ashabiah. The dynasty or the state was formed because of the existence of 'Ashabiah who safely enjoyed the results of development after several generations, an increasingly advanced economy made Al-Muwahidun the dynasty abundant with wealth little by little the nomadic life that became the character of the brand.a became changed like city livelihood. This generation is the one who changed them. This luxury then creates a wasteful and lazy nature. Waste in pursuit of a culture of luxury living makes a country or dynasty try to cover its lack of spending. In addition, power is up for grabs. The king or the Caliph finally crushed their leaders so that there was no power struggle and the dynasty gradually weakened. Some regions do not even trust the center in managing the government, they want the authority to manage the regions themselves. A dynasty that was truly headed for destruction after going through two stages of destruction, namely the army and militia, as well as economic destruction. The factors that led to the collapse of a dynasty were the centralization of power in a person, rampant luxury, as well as the laziness and cowardice that arose from the third generation, as well as the control of the space of power and abuse carried out within the Al-Muwahidun dynasty and the existence of dangerous offensive actions. a dynasty that caused its destruction.
